The Miami Heat signed restricted free-agent forward Jason Kapono to an offer sheet Friday. Charlotte will now have up to seven days to match the Heat’s offer. The Bobcats extended a qualifying offer to Kapono in June.
The Cavaliers lost Kapono last season when the Charlotte selected him in the 2004 expansion draft. He averaged 47.73% from the 3 point when he played with the Cavs in the 2003-04 season.
