Flash Seats on the move

Electronic ticket resale company Flash Seats has bought up the Dallas-based ticketer Vertical Alliance.
The purchase price isn’t being disclosed. Vertical Alliance’s operations will remain in Dallas.
Through Flash Seats, which began about a year ago, customers can buy, sell or transfer already purchased tickets electronically for sporting events and concerts. Since 1999, Vertical Alliance has helped teams and venues sell tickets to their events.
Cleveland-based Flash Seats is owned by an investor group led by Cleveland Cavaliers majority owner Dan Gilbert, who operates the Quicken Loans Arena where the Cavs play.
Flash Seats provides ticket resale services for the Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena. Vertical Alliance clients include the NBA’s Houston Rockets, the Houston Toyota Center, Boise State University and Texas A&M University.

Does Hughes want to go back to the Wizards?

In an article that appeared on SI.com last Friday, “Arenas sounds off on his critics and questions Kobe“, Gilbert Arenas indicated that Hughes wants to go back to play with the Wizards.

“I’m not even going to lie, I’m not going to put words in his mouth,” Arenas said. “But he told me in training camp, ‘Man, I want to come back.’ The first training camp he was there. It’s not [because of] LeBron’s game; it’s the offense he’s in. He’s not in that offense that used to be when they had Ricky Davis, Darius Miles — oh my God they were flying. Now they’re more a half-court, set-up team, so when [James] tries to play his game, it looks more dominating than it’s supposed to look.”

Varejao might sign a one year deal

Accroding to Sports Illustrated, Anderson Varejao is willing to accept a one-year deal worth the mid-level figure of $5 million according to a source.

It has been widely reported that Varejao was seeking a deal along the lines of five years and $60 million.

A one year deal might be a good compromise for both parties and would offer long-term protection for both sides. Varejao would become an unrestricted free agent, but the Cavs would still hold his Bird Rights. They would be able to go over the salary cap to re-sign him, or work a sign-and-trade.

Hughes is questionable for tonight’s game

The Cavaliers are listing Larry Hughes as questionable for tonight’s game against the Warriors for a lower-leg contusion.

Hughes didn’t practice Monday after banging his left knee in the game against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday.

“It’s sore. We’ll treat it and see how it feels in the morning,” Hughes said. “There’s a little swelling in there. Anytime you get a bruise, it takes three or four days to deal with it. Right now it is not tolerable; I couldn’t get out there and run.”

Suns top Cavs

Lebron blocked two shots in the first quarter and Z and Drew combined for 44 points and 27 rebounds but it wasn’t enough to keep the Suns at bay as Nash led the team with 30 points and 10 assists.

Larry Hughes finished the game with six points and five turnovers.

Cavaliers Win against Knicks

The Cavaliers moved past the New York Knicks Friday night by a score of 110 to 106 at the Q .  James ended the evening with 45 points and Gibson had 24.  The coach of the Knicks Isaiah Thomas thought James rebounded from his opening night’s performance.  “He was good tonight.  He was exceptional and he wasn’t going to let his team lose.”  James went to the line for 22 free throws, sinking 16 of them and was 13-28 from the field for the night.  It did come with a price however, almost 45 minutes on the court.

What is Happening to our Cavaliers?

Brian Windhorst has an interesting article on what is happening with our Cavaliers.  “The Cavs are fractured emotionally and it as plain as day both on the court and in the locker room.  The natural progression of things has changed and the Cavs family is now feuding as they deal with the transition. Young players are holding out because they want their money now. Veteran players being eased aside are angry about playing time, some wanting more, some wanting to be traded. Mike Brown’s attempts at teaching offense have been bumpy to say the least. The front office is keeping a closer eye on the future than the present. ”
