Memphis Grizzlies After Anderson Varejao

According to some sources, Anderson Varejao received $7 million offer from the Memphis Grizzlies. Anderson can sign an offer sheet July 11th and because he is a restricted free agent, the Cavaliers will be able to match that.

The Grizzlies have about $8.3 million to spend in free agency.  “They are expected to throw some of it - perhaps all of it - at the Cavs’ valuable forward/center. The Grizzlies would pair the 6-foot-10, 240-pound Varejao with 7-foot Pau Gasol in an imposing front line under new coach Marc Iavaroni.” Bob Finnan of the News-Herald said.

  1. The cavs better match this. If andy leaves I would die!

  2. If the Grizzlies are really interested and willing to pay that much, then I might let him go. I don’t think he’s worth that much money and don’t want us to get stuck with large contracts. I believe the Cavaliers have 7 days to match any contract.

  3. if cleveland doesn’t sign andy, they will be losing a big piece of this team, who will they have to back up Z, or drew, donyell?? yah ok, also, andy is there energy guy, there hustler, there momentum booster, he is a great rebounder, and always gets cleveland more possessions. If we lose him were toast. Even though many ppl think andy isn’t worth 7 or 8 mil. cleveland needs him. I would be soo devastated if he left. ily andy!

  4. It would be a huge loss to cleveland and its fans. Andy is there 6th man..there go to guy for a energy pickup…..we need that…but i see him going to memphis in another typical cleveland sports move!!!

  5. The Cavs should match this offer. Without a draft pick they cant really afford to lose Anderson. On top of that there is no one that can bring energy and hustle to the game off the bench other then Anderson. They\’ll regret this if they let him go. There isn\’t anyone else they can afford nor anyone that they will bring into there system that will replace him. We don\’t have the money in Cleveland and there definitely isn\’t a player that will be able to match Anderson or replace him in the free agent pool. It wouldn\’t surprise me though if Cleveland didn\’t sign him…i mean…it\’s Cleveland

  6. i can\’t beleive that the cavs haven\’t signed a free agent. they a so close to having a great team. danny ferry isn\’t doing anything but sitting on his hands, much like his carrer, lots of hype poor results. ferry was suppose to bring a spurs type of player aquisition approach to the cavs, when is it going to happen. everyone in the east has gotten better except the cavs, thanks to ferry.
